This is a quick and easy scone recipe – no mixer needed, just a quick mix of dry ingredients with wet (buttermilk and egg yolk). I prepped everything the night before, so I was able to mix and bake them off in the morning before work.
I think these could have used a bit more buttermilk in the dough – they’re a little crumbly, but Larry and I both love the flavor. The addition of toasted sesame seeds is a nice touch.

They look wonderful! I also liked the addition of the sesame seeds.
Your scones look perfect…these just weren’t for me! I was trying to decide between the Nutella Scones and Carrot Coconut Scones from Baked Explorations. Went with Nutella – so good!
I agree– great flavor, but they could use a little more buttermilk for a smoother/moister dough. I will definitely make these again at some point, and I’ll probably play with it. I shall report back to the group! :)
